SureScreen Diagnostics announces RISQS rail industry approval
Building on their many years of experience in supplying drug and alcohol screening, SureScreen are delighted to announce that they have acquired RISQS (Rail Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme) approval, which will allow the UK rail industry to benefit from their innovative rapid testing products and occupational health services.
RISQS is a supplier accreditation system which stringently appraises organisations, before approving them as preferred suppliers for the rail industry. There are over 120 complex organisations utilising the RISQS system, making in excess of 11,000 search queries each month to over 3,000 suppliers. The industry has a huge variance of required supply, everything from trains and carriages to the food served on them, and the infrastructure behind them. RISQS approval is a prestigious accolade, and a mark of quality for those organisations involved.
“There are many safety-critical operations within the rail industry, and our involvement will help to ensure that individuals are safe to work, and not under the influence of drugs of abuse, or alcohol,” said Alastair Campbell, Director at SureScreen.
“We are delighted to win this approval to be one of the many organisations behind the scenes, increasing the efficiency and safety of rail travel throughout the UK. This opportunity will enable us to build on the success we have had in implementing screening for other large organisations in automotive, logistics and manufacturing industries throughout the UK.”
Based in Derby, SureScreen are located just a couple of miles from Bombardier, Deltarail, The Rail Accident Investigation Board and Midland Railway Headquarters. Derby station, still located on the original site of 1840, provides a direct link to London, and services to the North East and the South West rail systems. Many innovations came from the Derby works, including the introduction of diesel locomotives into public service in 1948.
